境外新生抵台作業程序

1.教務處提供境外學位新生(僑外陸)名單。

2.安排接機名單及學伴與新生建立群組(line or whatsapp)。

(1)根據教務處名單與境外新生個別聯繫(E-MAIL或電話)確認就讀意願及安排宿舍。

(2)同學自行辦理簽證:持國外護照申請就學居留簽證(resident visa) 香港澳門申請單次入台證

(3)確認同學住宿意願協助申請宿舍(與宿管確認無須上網登記抽籤)

(4)協助同學訂購宿舍床組及電話卡

3.確認學校當學年開學日期後告知於開學前1週抵台(可以指定日期區間),請同學於領取簽證後安排航班(請務必確認安排機票時已領取簽證,已免登機日無簽證無法登機 及入境。

4.接機人員追蹤航班動態且須於航班表定抵達前1小時抵機場於接機時滾動式即時群上回覆動態,於入住宿舍後回報。

(1)陪同新生採買生活必須品

(2)開通電話卡

(3)於新生抵台日前至教務處領取學生證(新生入住宿舍門禁刷卡)

(4)協助完成學費宿舍費繳費

(5)協助完成學生資訊系統帳密順利登入操作

(6)協助同學於抵台日起算15天內完成居留證線上申請(完成註冊繳費後若無法至學生資訊系統下載電子版在學證明可至 教務處申請紙本在學證明,以利申請居留證)

(7)協助同學持學生證(具悠遊卡功能)、在學證明及護照至台中市捷運局指定地點辦理10公里免費搭乘公車(大慶捷運站可申請)

(8)同學領取居留證後協助開立銀行帳戶

5.抵台新生參加校方新生入學輔導。

(1)依據學務處公告新生註冊流程完成各項事宜(以112學年度新生網站範例) https://gcm.csmu.edu.tw/   中山醫學大學-新生入學專區 (csmu.edu.tw)

(2)新生帳號資料建檔說明(附件1)

 (3)新生團體心理測驗同意書(附件2)

(4)中山醫學大學兵役調查表(附件3)

6.(國際處、學務處、各系所)安排1場校園導覽,境外新生擇一參加(於開學前完成)

7.各系所協助線上選課。    

   8.新生於持居留證核發日起計算滿6個月符核申請全民健保資格(國際處協助申請)。於健保等待期6個月只能出境1次,自出境日起至入境日不得超過29天,並且追加計算於等待期內,超過29天自入境日起重新計算6個月等待期。

   9.新生於健保等待期內無醫療保險可詢問協助自行購買意願。

 

Procedures for overseas freshmen arriving in Taiwan:

1. The Academic Affairs Office is responsible for providing a list of overseas freshmen (overseas Chinese).

2. Organize transportation schedules and student companionship and establish a group communication platform (such as LINE or WhatsApp) for new students.

(1)Reach out to overseas freshmen individually via email or phone, using the list provided by the Academic Affairs Office. This is to confirm their intention to study and to arrange accommodation.

(2)Students should apply for visas independently:

    (a)Apply for a student residence visa (resident visa) with a foreign passport.

    (b)Apply for a single-entry permit to Taiwan from Hong Kong and Macau.

(3)Confirm the students' willingness to live in dormitories and assist them in applying for dormitory placement (confirm with the dormitory administrator; there is no need to register online for placement drawing).

(4)Assist students in arranging dormitory bedding and obtaining phone cards.

3. After confirming the school's start date for the current academic year, students will be notified to arrive in Taiwan one week before the start of classes (specify the date range). Students are advised to book and organize their flights after obtaining the visa. It is crucial to confirm the visa receipt before making flight arrangements, as boarding the plane without a visa after the designated boarding day will not be possible.

4. The pick-up staff will track the flight status and must arrive at the airport 1 hour before the scheduled arrival of the flight and notify at instance during pick-up. Reply to the status and report back after checking into the dormitory.

(1) Accompany new students to purchase daily necessities

(2) Activate a phone card

(3) Go to the Academic Affairs Office to get your student ID card before the new students arrive in Taiwan (freshmen need to swipe the card at the dormitory entrance)

(4) Assist in completing tuition and dormitory fee payments

(5) Assist in completing the smooth login operation of the student information system account and password

(6) Assist students to complete the online application for a residence permit within 15 days from the date of arrival in Taiwan (if you are unable to download the electronic version of the certificate of enrollment in the student information system after completing the registration and payment, you can go to the Academic Affairs Office to apply for a paper certificate of enrollment to facilitate the application for the residence permit)

(7) Assist students to bring their student ID card (with EasyCard function), proof of enrollment and passport to the designated location of Taichung City MRT Bureau to apply for free bus rides for 10 kilometers (applicable at Daqing MRT Station)

(8) Assist students in opening a bank account after receiving their residence permit

5. Upon their arrival in Taiwan, freshmen are required to participate in the school's freshman orientation. They should complete various tasks according to the new student registration process outlined by the Academic Affairs Office. 6. The International Office, Academic Affairs Office, and various departments will organize a campus tour for freshmen, and overseas students can choose to participate. This tour should be completed before the start of the semester.

7. Each department will assist new students in the process of online course selection.

8. New students who have held their residence permit for 6 months from the date of issuance will be eligible to apply for national health insurance. The International Affairs department will aid with the application. During the 6-month waiting period for health insurance, students are allowed to leave the country only once. The period from the date of departure to the date of re-entry must not exceed 29 days. Any additional days will be calculated within the waiting period. If it exceeds 29 days, the 6-month waiting period will be recalculated from the date of re-entry.

9. New students without medical insurance during the waiting period for health insurance are encouraged to express their willingness to purchase it independently.
